Welcome to Sector
How we are building the analytics platform we dreamed for watersports

We're windsurfers, wingfoilers, kitesurfers, sailors. We've spent countless hours on the water chasing speed, dialing in our technique, and wondering why some sessions feel fast while others don't. We've downloaded GPX files, stared at speed graphs, and scrolled through endless data points—only to close the app feeling more confused than when we started.
That frustration is exactly why we built Sector.
The Gap We Couldn't Ignore
If you've ever watched a Formula 1 race, you've seen the real-time sector splits, the overlay comparisons between drivers, and the detailed breakdowns that show exactly where time is gained or lost. Racing teams have entire departments dedicated to turning telemetry into actionable insights. Every corner, every braking zone, every acceleration point is analyzed and visualized in ways that help drivers and engineers understand what to improve.
In watersports, we have GPS watches that log our sessions. We have apps that show us top speeds and distance covered. But that's where it usually ends. Data logging is not the same as data understanding. A number on a screen doesn't tell you why your gybe was slow. A speed graph doesn't show you where you're losing time compared to your best run.
We kept thinking: where's the F1-style analysis for us?
Data Alone Isn't Enough
Here's the thing about raw data—it's only useful if you can make sense of it. Knowing your max speed was 28 knots is nice. But what does that actually mean for your next session?
What we needed wasn't more numbers. We needed visualizations that make patterns obvious and plain-language insights that tell us what to focus on. We needed to see our runs compared side by side. We needed to understand which part of our gybe was costing us speed. We needed that "aha" moment where something clicks and you finally see what you've been doing wrong.
That's what Sector is built to deliver.

Built by Riders, for Riders
We're not a generic fitness app trying to add watersports as an afterthought. We understand that a windsurf gybe is fundamentally different from a kite tack. We know that foilers care about height consistency while kiters care about jump airtime. We've felt the frustration of watching a friend pull away from us on every run and having no idea why.
Sector brings professional-grade analysis to every session:
- 3D head-to-head replays so you can literally watch yourself race against a friend or your own previous run, including support for drawing courses
- Sector-by-sector timing inspired by F1, breaking down exactly where you're fast and where you're leaving time on the table
- Human-readable insights that translate complex telemetry into simple sentences like "Your gybe entry was 3 knots faster than your exit—focus on maintaining speed through the turn"
- Turn analysis that shows you the line you took, your speed along the way at each point
- Jump analysis that you can analyze each jump, your trajectory, your height, take-off speed
- One-click session sharing so your coach or training partner can view your full analysis

The "Aha" Moment
Improving in watersports is hard. There's no coach standing next to you on the water. You can't watch yourself from the outside. Most of the time, you're relying on feel—and feel can be deceiving.
But when you actually see something, everything changes. When you watch a 3D replay of your run overlaid against someone faster, you notice the subtle differences. When you see that your competitor carried 2 more knots through a turn, you know exactly what to work on. That visual feedback is the missing piece that transforms vague "I need to get better" into specific, actionable improvement.
And improvement doesn't have to be a solo journey. Share your session with a coach or training partner with a single link. They can see everything—your laps, your lines, your speeds—and give you feedback based on real data, not guesswork. Sit down together after a session, pull up the 3D replay, and talk through exactly what happened on that gybe where you lost speed. That's the kind of collaboration that accelerates progress.
We built Sector to create those moments.
What's Next
We're launching Sector in beta, and we're inviting riders who want to take their performance seriously—whether you're chasing podiums or just trying to beat your own records. The platform supports windsurf, kitesurf, wingfoil, and more, with dedicated analysis for each sport.
This is just the beginning. We have a roadmap full of features we can't wait to share, and we're building this alongside our community. Your feedback shapes what comes next.
Ready to see your sessions in a new way? Sign up for free and import your first session. That "aha" moment might be one click away.
